For the first time in podcast history, Mom and I are in the same room to record this episode of the Adventures in Arting Podcast! I wonder if there’s any difference in how the podcast feels? You’ll have to let me know!
As mentioned on the podcast, I’ve got a bunch of teaching gigs coming up:
- August 31-September 2: 3 Classes at Whimsodoodle in Florida.
- September 22-23: I’ll be at The Ink Pad in NYC.
- October 13-14: ScanNCut for Artists in the Boston area.
- November 2-4: co-teaching a 3-day class with Nat Kalbach in the UK
I hope to see you in class!
Such a great podcast, I loved hearing your perspective on the quilt class, especially about the critiques. One thing I appreciate about what I have learned about following you is that you are very encouraging , because you want people to keep going. I was thinking about how you could give a more honest critique without crushing students, and for me I thought maybe it has to do with the students question to you? For example ,”Something seems to be missing or not connecting what would you suggest?” I know a lot of times what I see in my head doesn’t transfer to what I make. Or, you could ask, what do you love about what you have done? Is there anything you want / would do differently?
This episode just really got me thinking. So thanks for letting me express my opinion! I also wanted to ask you if you saw the new craft show, on NBC called Making It! I would live to see you on it as a contestant, I hope you will check it out.
