062: After Creativation

I’m delighted to bring you another episode of the Adventures in Arting Podcast!  Today’s podcast features chatter about new classes, interrupting, the word interesting, the MFA Boston, the Blogiversary, and our visit to Creativation (formerly CHA).  I thought I’d include some photos from Creativation as a companion to the podcast.  Enjoy!

I am planning to share all of my projects very soon, but just so you know, I was finishing this quilt sample on the plane to Phoenix!

Speaking of Phoenix, I took a photo from our hotel room window that I thought was kind of cool:

I spent the first day setting up the Brother booth, which turned out great!

As I mention on the podcast, I demo-ed, demo-ed, and then demo-ed some more!  In the Brother Booth, the Crafter’s Workshop Booth and the Art Foamies Booth:

But, of course, Creativation is really about the opportunity to take photos with other people!

Ten points if you can guess which of my friends decided it was a good idea to give me a makeover…. 😉

  1. HOW DO download on this web site …. I like to download so I can listen in my car while driving… but I am unable to download… I avoid iTUNES because it does not download well … files are frequently corrupted.

    THANKS

  2. Listened on the way to work this morning, thoroughly delightful drive listening to you both, such fun … love how Eileen keeps you on track! Hey, idea for a podcast … you should take questions from listeners and pick some to answer … I found myself wanting to ask you a question, and thought wouldn’t be cool to hear what others would ask. I love this new format just the 2 of you chatting … it’s oddly fun, entertaining and totally enjoyable!

  3. As always, fun listening to you and your Mom and keeping up on what is going on in your world. I have done marbling and it is addictive – suminagashi. I know that what you create will be awesome. Love your vlog and I look forward to your promo on your new stamp carving class.

  4. Another great podcast. It was very int…I mean, fascinating. Love hearing you and your mom talk about museums, antique shops, CHA (or whatever it is called now), and your past life. Am going to sign up for both stamping classes. Look forward to more new online classes.

  5. Although you explained quite well about your “interrupting” guest presenters on Make It Artsy, mentioning time constraints, I have noticed it is almost always to ask the guest a question that reminds them to explain a detail to the audience in a way that we will understand if we have no prior knowledge of the topic, such as how long the working time is for a product, must the task be done immediately in one step or can it be put aside to come back to, etc. If you did not do this, there would be people who would not fully understand, or even misunderstand.
I do not for a minute think you have anything but the purest intention of helping the guest make the most successful presentation, as I have even witnessed you gently reassuring a guest with your hand as she nervously made her presentation.
People who pay close attention to the presentations will surely see this is the case.
