As early as he can remember, his mom was crocheting. When she brought home a Brother knitting machine, he was fascinated and soon he was creating designs from Christening dresses to ski wear. He dabbled in macram\u00e9, string art and latch hooked rugs when they were hot in the 70\u2019s. Now, in his mid-forties, Joe\u2019s turned his eye to paper crafting. He loves detail and 3D work and upcycling is his specialty. <a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/balzerdesigns.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c766153ef01a3fd31bbb8970b-popup\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341c766153ef01a3fd31bbb8970b img-responsive\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"PC-Clock\" src=\"https:\/\/balzerdesigns.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c766153ef01a3fd31bbb8970b-500wi\" alt=\"PC-Clock\" \/><\/a> Joe\u2019s work has appeared in Scrap &amp; Stamp Arts, Just Cards (Volume 27, Fall 2012), every issue of Just Steampunk! and Somerset Studio Gallery Summer 2012 magazines. <a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/balzerdesigns.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c766153ef01a3fd31bbe7970b-popup\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341c766153ef01a3fd31bbe7970b img-responsive\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"PC-PoliceBoxNightLight\" src=\"https:\/\/balzerdesigns.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c766153ef01a3fd31bbe7970b-500wi\" alt=\"PC-PoliceBoxNightLight\" \/><\/a> He\u2019s filmed a segment of Crafting at the Spotted Canary with Joy Macdonell (aired on PBS Fall 2011) and segments for <a href=\"https:\/\/scrapbooksouptv.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Scrapbook Soup TV<\/a>. He has won Archiver\u2019s One-of-a-Kind Wall Art contest (Ohio, August 2011) and taken blue ribbons at the Ohio State Fair. He\u2019s served on the Viva Las Vegastamps!, Want2Scrap and USArtQuest design teams.
